Fundraising and Meetings
As part of our final year exhibition, we need to fundraise £3,000 for a catalogue producing and website being made. For this it required a small team to organise fundraising activities, keeping on top of money, keeping other students informed of how we are progressing and making sure that everyone is doing their bit to fundraise. As a committee we meet every week to keep up to date with progress and to make sure that the progress that we are making is sufficient.
My role is exhibition chair, so I am keeping an eye over the committee to make sure that they are finding the process ok, I also keep in check with everyone, so I know what stage we are at and when.
The past couple of meetings have consisted of planning events for fundraising, our main ideas so far are:
Bake sales.
Print sales.
Print auctions from photographers and artists.
Headshots for CV’s.
Graphic design contest.
GoFund me page.
We are also taking over the BA photography Instagram page to gain excitement about events and to promote the different events.
From this experience I will learn a lot about time management and how to manage a team, this will be a transferable skill to use and develop when out in the industry in the future.
