When deciding to complete a book as part of my portfolio to showcase work in more of a delicate manner, I decided to consult with a graphic designer through the first design/layout of the book. The focus of the book is to demonstrate feelings when being seen through different types of gazes and also performing in front of the camera. So, to achieve this there were some patterns and image constraints that were advised by Harry to make the workflow smoother and to form more of a narrative.

The first session that I had with Harry, was enlightening and informed the work further due to a different set of skills and eyes to the project. This first session consisted of typefaces, spacing of wording and collating the correct images to be able to sequence to the fullest capacity. A decision was made to make the book an a5 orientation, this incorporated the idea of intimacy and connection through a small book.

I found that pairing with a graphic designer at this early stage of bookmaking helped aid my work to a higher standard. As changes can be made in further sessions to design different covers, centre pages and layouts, to achieve the desired look.
